Evangelia Stangogianni

Evangelia Stangogianni MD has a MASTERS DEGREE IN HEALTH CARE MANAGEMENT. She is an expert Eye Surgeon specializing in Cataract Microsurgery, Pediatric Ophthalmologist, Refractive and Glaucoma surgery. She was admitted to the Medical School of the Universidad de Oriente in Bolívar in 1992 and graduated magna cum laude in 1999. She then went on to complete the postgraduate program at the Ophthalmology Department of the Hospital Universitario de CaracasUniversidad Central de Venezuela” in Caracas-Venezuela. She completed her Ophthalmology Specialty at the UNAM “Dr Luis Sanchez Bulnes Hospital, Asociacion para Evitar la Ceguera en Mexico (A.P.E.C)”. There she proceeded with further training on cataract and glaucoma surgery, pediatric ophthalmologist, intraocular lenses, and LASER EYE SURGERY for the correction of myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), astigmatism and presbyopia. Following completion of her postgraduate training, she has performed thousands of surgical procedures and has gained extensive experience in Refractive Surgery, Limbal stem cell transplantation, Amniotic membrane transplantation, conjunctival flaps, specialty intraocular and diaphragm intraocular lens implants, Anterior segment reconstruction techniques and Ahmed valve surgery. Professor at the Ophthalmology Department 2008 – 2012 and coordinator of the microsurgery fellowship (anterior segment of the eye) at the University UNAM “Asociación para Evitar la Ceguera en México”. She has made extensive scientific publications in renowned international opthalmology reviews and books and has been invited as a speaker in multiple Ophthalmology Societies across Europe and the United State of America (ALACCSAR, SECOIR, ASCRS, ESCRS and CMCC).
