Humans are generally born with heperopia. Astigmatism is usually present from an early age and may increase as the child grows. Myopia usually affects school-aged children and increases as the child grows.<\/p>\n
What is ophthalmologically important is that in children under 6 years old, high degrees of these abnormalities, and especially if there is a difference between the two eyes (anisometropia), leads to amblyopia. It is not noticed by the child or the parents because if one eye sees well, the child performs all his activities without a problem (play, writing, television).<\/p>\n
The ophthalmologist will measure the degree of all refractive errors even in a child a few months old.<\/p>\n
