It consists of three parts: The iris, the ciliary body and the choroid. It affects the iris and its surrounding tissue, known as the ciliary body. Anterior uveitis is sometimes called iritis because the iris, which is part of the uveal lining, is usually affected in this type of disease.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Interstitial Uveitis<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/laserlens.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/ofthalmologiki-monada-ioannina-laserlens-ragoeiditida-3.jpg\" width=\"204\" height=\"132\" alt=\"ofthalmologiki monada ioannina laserlens ragoeiditida 3\" class=\"wp-image-214377 alignnone size-full\" \/> This is another type of uveitis that affects the area just behind the ciliary body (pars plana) as well as the most prominent edge of the retina. It is the rarest type of uveitis.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Posterior Vaginitis<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/laserlens.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/ofthalmologiki-monada-ioannina-laserlens-ragoeiditida-4.jpg\" width=\"208\" height=\"157\" alt=\"ofthalmologiki monada ioannina laserlens ragoeiditida 4\" class=\"wp-image-214378 alignnone size-full\" \/><\/span> A rare form of the disease that affects the back of the eye, the choroid and may affect the retina and\/or the optic nerve. This form is the most difficult to treat and is often associated with progressive vision loss.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;Cause&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.4.9&#8243; open=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In most cases there is no obvious underlying cause of uveitis. It is a condition associated with a wide range of diseases and syndromes and may also be caused as a result of our body&#8217;s natural response to infections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/laserlens.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/ofthalmologiki-monada-ioannina-laserlens-ragoeiditida-5.jpg\" width=\"199\" height=\"136\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-214379 alignnone size-full\" \/> Uveitis has many causes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Virus (e.g. herpes, shingles, chicken pox, etc.)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Fungus (eg histoplasmosis)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Parasite (eg toxoplasmosis)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Systemic disease (e.g. arthritis, collagen diseases, sarcoid, etc.)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Wound<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;Symptoms&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.4.9&#8243; open=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Uveitis can appear suddenly, with eye irritation (redness) and pain, or gradually with mild pain or redness combined with gradual blurring of vision. Symptoms of uveitis may include:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Photosensitivity<\/li>\n<li>Blurred vision<\/li>\n<li>Pain in the eye<\/li>\n<li>Redness<\/li>\n<li>Black spots<\/li>\n<li>Basic tests for all uveitis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">General blood, TKE, CRP, serum electrophoresis, differential-BB, Liver enzymes and renal function check, ACE Chest x-ray HLA-B 27, B-17 in anterior uveitis Toxoplasmosis, Lyme disease, syphilis (Treponemapallidum).<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][\/et_pb_accordion][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The iris, the ciliary body and the choroid.
