Lenstar

With focus loss detection and lowcoherentreflectometry, optical biometry with HaagStreit’s LENSTAR reaches the highest levels of precision in measuring the lens before a cataract operation or before a refractive lens surgery operation. With ultrasound it is calculated that the measurement accuracy depends on the skill of the operator while the measuring instrument touches the eye. LENSTAR is the only optical biometrics machine that measures the thickness of the lens, a parameter necessary to use the 4th generation formula to measure the lens while the accuracy and repeatability of the measurements are ensured because it makes measurements safely on the optical axis. This is particularly important in high myopias, in specialized cases of cataracts and in the application of refractive surgery lenses such as multifocal lenses.
