The A12C is PlusoptiX’s new portable, automatic, binocular refractometer, specially designed for infants, children and uncooperative patients. The device works with conventional rechargeable batteries, so it becomes completely portable and can be easily used in different workplaces. It has a built-in touch screen for operating the device. It measures both eyes at the same time. As a result, the measurement is performed quickly, and gaze symmetry is calculated to diagnose possible strabismus. No mydriasis needed. Based on the phenomenon of photoshadowing, there is no need to use any drops of cycloplegic solution in the patient’s eye.
